Artist Statement
I am a painter and composer living in California.
My current focus is on ink and watercolor, inspired by natural forms, silence, and fragments of memory.
With each brushstroke, I try to capture what cannot be said—
moments that hover between light and sound.
My creative process draws from music, especially improvisation,
which guides the rhythm of lines and space.
Through my art, I seek quiet resonance,
where what is seen and what is felt become one.

現在は、自然のかたち、静けさ、記憶の断片から着想を得て、インクと水彩による制作に取り組んでいます。
一筆一筆に込めるのは、光と音の狭間にひそむ、言葉では届かない響き。
制作プロセスには即興性があり、音楽的リズムと空間が線の流れを導いてくれます。
絵を通して、「見えること」と「感じること」が静かに重なるような共鳴を目指しています。
Background
As I grow older, I’ve come to appreciate the importance of collaboration and coexistence between human life and the natural world. Encounters with nature—those unexpected, awe-inspiring moments—have inspired me to capture their essence through painting.
At the same time, I’ve found myself drawn to deeper questions about the fundamental structure of reality. Recently, I’ve become fascinated by the concept of parallel worlds, and I aim to express this interest through surrealist works.
My curiosity spans multiple dimensions of art—landscapes, portraiture, and surrealism—and I continue to explore where these interests may lead me, using painting as a way to reflect and journey inward.
Art has always been an essential part of my life. I was born in Kobe, Japan, and moved to the United States for university studies. Since then, I’ve made the U.S. my home. I earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University and have worked in the robotics industry ever since. Yet, throughout my career, I’ve always valued the balance between technology and the arts—both music and painting. That is what brought me back to painting once again.
年齢を重ねるにつれ、人間の営みと自然との協調や共存の大切さを強く感じるようになりました。そして、自然との偶然の出会いやその感動を、絵として表現したいという思いが生まれました。
同時に、この世界の根源的な仕組みにも関心を持ち始め、最近では「パラレルワールド」という概念に惹かれています。その世界観を、シュルレアリスムを通じて描いていきたいと考えています。
風景画、人物画、そして非現実を描くシュルレアリスムという異なる表現領域への関心が、私をどのような方向へ導いていくのか、自らの内面と対話しながら描き続けていきます。
芸術への情熱は、常に私の人生における大切な一部でした。私は日本の神戸に生まれ、大学留学をきっかけにアメリカに渡り、それ以来アメリカを拠点に暮らしています。シラキュース大学で電気工学の学士号を取得し、以来ロボット産業に携わってきましたが、テクノロジーと芸術（音楽や絵画）とのバランスを常に意識しています。それが、再び筆を取った理由でもあります。
